Orthodontic Care for Patients in Del Ray, VA

Del Ray has always done things its own way. It’s a neighborhood that would rather support the independent shop on the Avenue than the big chain out on the highway, and where people know the owner’s name. Your orthodontist should fit that pattern too.

Dr. Braces isn’t a franchise or a dental chain with a rotating cast of providers. It’s an independent, specialist-only practice led by Dr. Afsaneh Rangiani, who has been straightening smiles in Northern Virginia since 2016. Orthodontics is all she does. It isn’t a side service tacked onto a general dental office. She holds a PhD from Baylor College of Dentistry and a master’s in orthodontics from UConn. When you come in, you see her.

And we’re barely a few minutes from Del Ray, just over in Old Town on Prince Street.

Care that starts with a conversation

Every new patient starts the same way: we ask what you want your smile to look like, and then we’re honest about what it will take to get there. Digital scans give us a precise picture of your bite, so you can see the plan before you commit to anything.

From there, we build treatment around you:

  • Early evaluations for kids around age 7, when a small step now can head off a bigger problem later
  • Traditional and clear braces for kids and teens, including low-profile and tooth-colored options
  • Invisalign for teens and adults who want straighter teeth without anyone noticing

About Us

Del Ray is a neighborhood that values character. The bungalows and old foursquares along its streets each have their own quirks, and nobody here wants a cookie-cutter version of anything. That includes their smile. At Dr. Braces in Alexandria, Dr. Rangiani and her team bring the same attitude to orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults: treatment designed around the person, not pulled from a template.

No two bites develop the same way. One child has teeth erupting into a jaw that’s running out of room. A teenager has a bite that never quite lined up. An adult has teeth that have drifted since braces years ago. A one-size plan can’t do justice to any of them. So before anyone talks about braces or Invisalign®, Dr. Rangiani does the detective work. She uses digital scans and a full diagnostic exam to see what’s really happening, and she talks with you about your schedule, your priorities, and what matters most to you about the result. Only then does she recommend a path.

Affordable Braces

For a lot of Del Ray adults, straightening their teeth sits on the same “someday” list as redoing the kitchen or finally fixing the back porch. Nobody says no to it. It just keeps getting pushed off, because the first step feels fuzzy. How much will it cost? How many appointments will it take? Is it even worth asking? At Dr. Braces, we’ve made that first step as simple as possible, so someday can become this season.

Here’s what it actually looks like.

Step one: a free consultation. You come in, Dr. Rangiani takes digital scans and does a full exam, and you sit down together to talk about what you’d like to change. There’s no obligation and no pressure. You’ll leave knowing whether you need treatment, what your options are, and roughly how long it would take.

Step two: real numbers, up front. Before anything starts, you’ll see what treatment costs and how to pay for it. We work with most major dental plans, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna, Cigna PPO, and United Concordia. Our team helps you understand what your coverage will and won’t pay for. No insurance? We offer in-house financing and monthly payment plans, so the total can be spread out in a way that fits your household budget.

Step three: a schedule that works around you. We’re open from 8AM to 7PM on weekdays and 8AM to 2PM on Saturdays, so appointments can happen before work, after school, or on a weekend morning. And because our Prince Street office is just minutes from Del Ray, a visit doesn’t have to swallow half your day.

Through all of it, you’re working with a specialist. Dr. Rangiani practices orthodontics exclusively. That expertise shows up in the details, from choosing between braces and Invisalign to fine-tuning a bite so the result holds for years.

If a better smile has been on your someday list, for you or your child, let’s move it to this week. Schedule a free consultation at Dr. Braces and get your answers in a single visit.
